Beginning in the new year we will be looking for some new talent to increase our golf course maintenance staff. We have currently been in contact with local turfgrass programs throughout the area like the University of Tennessee Turfgrass Program. If you know of an individual seeking a summer or earlier in the year job that would be a good talent to provide golf course maintenance service here at Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club, please let me know.
Job opportunities would include one on one work with the superintendent and assistant learning how to properly operate all equipment, routine golf course set up, detailed bunker maintenance, and irrigation repair and maintenance. The primary focus of the job opportunity will be the day to day operations that are required to successfully operate a private golf maintenance program, other activities will include aerification, basic mechanical operations, and chemical applications supervised by management. Programs will be tailored to ensure employees have a successful and educational work career by frequent evaluation of the individual’s strengths and weaknesses. Candidates should possess a positive attitude, have a strong work ethic, be detail oriented and have the willingness to learn.
Thank you for any leads for employees and have a Merry Christmas.
Steffie Safrit, Golf Course Superintendent
